Poem #2

Time drew me up the stairs.

Compelled me gently, I rose in a hurry.

Transfixed, I did my deed.

There’s nothing left but what I know,

As I knew this moment before.

Time drew me down the hall.

The journey ends in that corner.

I won’t leave unaltered, entirely new.

There’s nothing left but what I know,

As I knew this moment before.

Time drew me in the room.

I settled down, forced, though gentle.

Now I travel at a balanced pace.

There’s nothing left but what I know,

As I knew this moment before.

Time drew me to the finish.

The lady was there awaiting my presence,

A hand on a chest, now a hand on a shell.

Everything left is what I don’t know,

As I live in this moment again.
